2: TOURISM/CITY BRANDING: Tourism in India is still in it's nascent stages, IPL with a great international fan following is actually helping this cause by showcasing the touristic aspects of the cities and it's nearby areas. It is also a good platform to attract international investors to invest some of their capital in a particular city. I don't know of any such case so far, but one of the reasons why countries bid for Olympic games is this and I see no reason why this cannot be extended to the case of IPL. 

NOW THE DISADVANTAGES CAUSED BY THIS EVENT ARE: BROADLY IPL IS THE REVENUE GENERATION FOR THE BCCI, ACTORS POLITICIANS , businessmen are the ones who actually gets all benefits here by owning the respective teams. Obviously it makes us to think like IPL is all about money. And sometimes it becomes an open truth also. You could recollect the incidents of the teams RR and CSK. Whenever money is coming to picture it spoils the sport It has become an absolute platform to convert black money into white which is really bad. Players are becoming more and more interested in IPL and this glamour of IPL and hard hitting ability definitely plays an impact on the temperament of each player and they tend to play audacious in every manner possible. You could cre how players are approaching the one day games. There are plenty of runs being scored around the park. This audacious mind set definitely not suits everyone. So when it comes to test cricket there are very less players available to play the true of cricket. This is definitely not an good sign. Only handful like Pujara are travelling in less travelled road. You cannot find any player to compete in test cricket after three or four years. Players are more susceptible to injuries and they are very much prone to injuries which not allows them for their national duties. And nobody is willing to sacrifice the IPL because of the huge sum of money they get at the end of the day. For an player who gets xxx money in an year is easily available in a single tournament of IPL. This is really poises an negative impact on cricket. So they prefer this and when it comes national duty not all are ready. Because it needs an different mindset and the ability to negotiate loose deliveries and the good ones. Each player gets a lot of fame when they hit or bowl according to t20 games. This fame thing is an spoiler in ones career and they tend to get settled for this IPL level games. Players who perform well in IPL matches are not able to play well in international matches because of the skill set issues. It is definitely becoming an threat to test matches because no one wants to play in tests and are willing to play for IPL
